A joint festival to mark Novruz will be held on the border of Turkmenistan and Iran
A festival on the occasion of Novruz will again be held on the Turkmen-Iranian border. The Director General of Provincial Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran announced the holding of a joint Iranian-Turkmen festival in the area of the city of Bajgiran in the Khorasan Razavi province in northeastern Iran, IRNA reports.
Such joint cultural events dedicated to the celebration of Novruz were held in the Khovdan-Bajgiran border zone south of Ashgabat in previous years. They include a general exhibition of works of decorative and applied art and handicrafts, performances by pop performers and folklore and ethnographic groups of the two countries.
Turkmenistan and Iran have good neighborly relations and historical roots, and today both states attach special importance to humanitarian dialogue in the context of the development of cooperation and regional ties.
