Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, Vepa Khadzhiev, met with representatives of the Latter-day Saints Christian charity organization accredited at the Geneva office of the Community of Nations.

During the meeting, there were discussed issues of establishing bilateral cooperation in order to implement joint humanitarian projects aimed at providing assistance to the most vulnerable segments of the population in various regions of the world. Representatives of the organization highly appreciated the humanitarian activities carried out by Turkmenistan in the region and in the world as a whole, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During the conversation, the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Foundation, created in Turkmenistan in 2021, to help children in need of care were noted and the importance of charitable activities in the modern world in general, taking into account current realities, was emphasized.

For a more detailed acquaintance with the activities of the Foundation, following the meeting, representatives of the mentioned charitable organization were given relevant information materials.

The Latter-day Saints organization has a presence in nearly 190 countries. In 2022 alone, it implemented 3,692 humanitarian projects around the world for a total amount of 1 billion 20 million US dollars.
