Active preparations for TEIF 2024 are continuing

Registration for the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investment in the Energy Sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024), which will be held on April 24-25, 2024 in Paris, France, continues. The Forum is organized by the State Concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit in partnership with Turkmen Forum and the British company GaffneyCline.
To date, more than 70 international delegates have registered to participate in the Paris Forum. Senior executives representing the oil and gas, energy, construction, transport and communications sectors of Turkmenistan will present new investment opportunities of the country at the forum. Among the confirmed international speakers are Haitham al-Gais, Secretary General of OPEC; Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Tatiana Molchan, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the UNECE; Li Yalan - President of the International Gas Union; Valerie Ducrot - Executive Director of the Global Gas Center (GGC); Julien Pouget - Senior Vice President of the Renewable Energy Division of TotalEnergies; Tim Gould - Chief Energy Economist of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Constance Shalchat – Director of BNP Paribas, Ozgur Kutai - Turkey Manager, Eastern Europe and Central Asia UKEF and many others.
The main focus of TEIF 2024 will be attracting foreign direct investment in the development of hydrocarbon resources in offshore blocks of the Caspian Sea, innovative technologies to optimize oil and gas production in mature fields, the development of the next stages of industrial development of the giant Galkynysh gas field, the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline construction project, the construction of new gas and chemical industries, as well as reducing methane and associated gas emissions. The Paris Forum will also address key aspects and investment opportunities in the construction and transport and communication sectors of Turkmenistan's economy.

The work of TEIF 2024 will be attended by heads and representatives of leading national and international energy, construction, transport and communication companies, international organizations and global financial institutions that are shaping the future of global energy. TEIF 2024 will be held under the motto: "Invest in Reliable, Sustainable, Environmentally friendly energy", and the key topics for discussion will be:
Turkmenistan's role in the future of global energy
Prospects for the development of natural gas in the context of the energy transition
Reduction of methane and carbon dioxide emissions from hydrocarbon production and alternative energy sources
Commodities for the energy transition: new trends and investment opportunities
Accelerating the process of attracting investments in infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan with a focus on construction, transport and communications
The role of financial institutions in promoting clean energy and modern infrastructure projects
Thus, the forum will highlight the issues of transition to clean energy and environmentally friendly fuels, present new projects in the field of construction, transport and communications, and discuss the role of financial institutions in promoting energy projects.
As you know, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the promotion of clean energy and initiated the construction of a hybrid solar-wind power plant on Lake Altyn Asyr, with a capacity of 10 MW. This facility is being built in an accelerated mode and is the first power plant in Turkmenistan operating on renewable energy sources.
The impressive list of delegates includes representatives of leading international companies such as CNPC, BP, TotalEnergies, Exxon Mobil, Petronas, ADNOC, Mitro International, Buried Hill, NAPECO, Dragon Oil, ENI, Lukoil; international oil and gas organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Global Gas Center (GGS), Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Energy Charter Secretariat; numerous international organizations and financial institutions - the UN, the OSCE, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Department of Export Credit Guarantee (UK Export Finance).
Why Paris?
Paris was chosen as the venue for the TEIF 2024 forum for a reason: located in the heart of Europe, the French capital is the location of the headquarters of leading international organizations, energy companies and financial institutions such as UNESCO, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and many others.
Paris is the most important economic, political, and cultural center of France, one of the leading European powers. The appearance of Paris has constantly changed in different historical periods, but it has always embodied the masterpieces of European architectural art. The iconic sights of the "heart of France" are known to any ordinary citizen – the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees and many other cultural heritage sites.
In the summer of 2024, Paris will become the venue for one of the largest international complex competitions - the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games. Previously, the French capital has already hosted the Summer Olympic Games twice – in 1900 and 1924, which makes it crucial to hold the Games in Paris in 2024, as this is connected with the celebration of the centenary of the 1924 Olympic Games.
Paris can be confidently ranked among global cities, as it is one of the world's centers of science, trade, art, culture, as well as one of the largest transport hubs in Europe. All this makes the French capital an ideal venue for a high-level investment forum.
The Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile hotel was chosen for business meetings within the framework of the investment forum due to the fact that it is located in the very center of Paris and will solve many logistical difficulties associated with moving around such a global metropolis.
The success of the previous investment forum, which took place in Dubai, made it possible to expand the event program: within the framework of the Paris Forum, business trips are planned to share experiences at the facility of the leading French energy company, TotalEnergies, as well as a tour of the UN International Methane Observatory, where technical capabilities for screening methane emissions in real time will be presented.
The usefulness of these excursions was proved by the experience of last year's forum, during which working tours of the Solar Park in Dubai, the world's largest solar power plant, were conducted.
Participation and business meetings with the leadership of the energy, construction and transport and communication sectors of Turkmenistan will raise awareness and provide potential investors with the most complete information about new investment projects.
We remind interested delegates that the deadline for registration for face–to-face participation in the Forum is April 5, and for online participation is April 19. The organizers also provide visa support to the delegates.
Additional information can be found on the official website of the event or write to the post office info@turkmen-forum.com.
