In 2023, Russia became one of the first non-Islamic countries in the world to introduce its own state Halal standards. In November, Russian Halal certificates were already recognized in the Gulf countries. In 2023, Russia became one of the first non-Islamic countries in the world to introduce its own state Halal standards. In November, Russian Halal certificates were already recognized in the Gulf countries. This will simplify the supply of products from the Russian Federation to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Yemen, and subsequently to other countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

According to the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, trade turnover between Russia and the OIC states has been growing in recent years. In 2021, it amounted to $113.3 billion, which is 43.2% more than in 2017.

The possibilities for new supplies were expanded by the Halal Competence Center “Roskachestvo - Halal” created in the Russian Federation, which became the first accredited body for the certification of halal products. The work of this body will simplify exports, reduce costs and increase the capabilities of supplier companies. Among the promising halal products from Russia are poultry, beef, confectionery and dairy products. Supplies may increase not only to the Gulf countries, but also from other Islamic states - Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.

The global Halal market is growing very quickly and is now valued at $2.6 trillion. It is predicted that by 2028 the market will be more than $11 trillion. This topic is one of the main ones at the annual KazanForum, held with the participation of countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and will be especially relevant this year.

Also within the framework of the Forum, the Exhibition of Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation “Russia Halal Expo 2024” will be held - the largest exhibition of projects according to Halal standards in Russia, a platform for establishing international business contacts and cooperation. As well as the International Fair of the Halal Industry Kazan Halal Market, where you can purchase halal products, cosmetics, clothing, paraphernalia, accessories and household goods.

Let us remind you that the XV International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” will be held in Kazan from May 14 to 19, 2024.
