The permanent representatives of the Central Asian countries in Geneva met with the special representative of the UN Secretary General


The meeting of Permanent Representatives of all five Central Asian countries with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Kakha Imnadze, took place in Geneva on Tuesday, March 5.
This is the first meeting of this format and it was held in the building of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva.
The timeliness and importance of establishing political and diplomatic contacts through the RCPCA-the UN Geneva platform, which will contribute to increasing the Center's potential in working on the international agenda in the Central Asian region, was noted.
During the meeting, Kakha Imnadze familiarized the heads of the Central Asian diplomatic missions accredited in Geneva with the tasks and current activities of the Regional Center with headquarters in Ashgabat. In particular, it was about promoting stability and security in the region, countering terrorism and violent extremism. Among the priorities of the Center are the management of transboundary water resources, youth, gender equality and other areas.
