Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are working on plans for a section of the TAPI gas pipeline in Herat province


Preparations for the construction of a section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline on Afghan territory continue.
At this stage, work is underway with government agencies in Afghanistan on plans to implement the strategy for the construction of a 150-kilometer section of the TAPI gas pipeline in the province of Herat, this section will supply local industrial enterprises and civil households with Turkmen natural gas. This was said by director of the TAPI Pipeline Company Limited consortium Mukhametmyrat Amanov at the Turkmen-Afghan business forum in Ashgabat.
The Turkmen side continues to provide technical assistance to the Afghan side in resolving issues related to planning gas distribution networks for industrial enterprises and households in Herat province, Amanov added.
The Turkmengaz state concern has completed the construction of a 214-kilometer section of the gas pipeline passing through Turkmen territory and has fully prepared it for operation.
