Exhibition at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry: what Afghan producers brought to Ashgabat


An exhibition of Afghan goods opened in Ashgabat on Monday, March 4. The event, organized as part of the first Turkmen-Afghan business forum, takes place at the expo center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

As the organizers of the exhibition at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry told an ORIENT correspondent, the Afghan delegation that arrived in the capital the day before includes a large group of Afghan entrepreneurs, high-ranking representatives of the ministries of trade, economy and other government departments, the chamber of commerce and industry and banks. The delegation is headed by Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuruddin Azizi.

The first visitors to the exhibition were the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of the government, heads of the country's ministries, heads of diplomatic missions, public organizations, media representatives and Turkmen businessmen.

The exhibition displays the products of more than 200 Afghan private companies from various sectors of the economy. In addition to traditional oriental goods - tea, dried fruits and spices, carpets, jewelry and other handicrafts, precious stones, there are sections with construction and industrial products, household chemicals and pharmaceuticals, food and drinks.

The Afghan side is ready to actively trade with Turkmenistan, increase exports, use our transit potential to supply their goods to other regions, as well as facilitate the transit of Turkmen products through Afghanistan, this was discussed at the meetings of acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuruddin Azizi with Chairman of the Union industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev and head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov.

The exhibition of Afghan goods will last until March 6. The Turkmen-Afghan business forum also began today, bringing together representatives of government agencies and private companies of the two countries in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
