A seminar on the Border Management Program in Central Asia was held in Ashgabat
The Regional Office of the European Union's Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA) held a workshop for front-line staff involved in profiling potential traffickers and smugglers.
The event, which was attended by representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the relevant state bodies of the country, international and national experts in this field, was held on February 29 – March 1 at the Archabil Hotel in the capital, according to the website of the country's migration department.
During the meeting, the international experience of training specialists for effective work related to the identification of victims of human trafficking, illegal migrants and their identification was studied. In addition, the participants were acquainted with the EU practice on the use of IT tools in profiling.
It is planned to develop a practical booklet with the main risk profiles and risk indicators for further use in creating risk analysis profiles and conducting border checks.
