Uzbekistan to introduce annual visas for visiting Khorezm


Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Khorezm region. The President of Uzbekistan announced the adoption of a three-year program for the development of tourism as one of the leading areas of the local economy. For this period, all proceeds to the Tourism Development Fund will be used strictly within the region.
It is planned to introduce a new visa program "Uzbekistan is my second home". Holders of the relevant visas will be able to visit Khorezm without restrictions for one year.
To solve the problem of the shortage of hotel places in certain areas, additional loans will be allocated for the construction and expansion of accommodation facilities. The funds will be provided for 7 years with a two-year grace period, at 18% per annum, writes spot.uz .
In Urgench, the head of state proposed to open museums dedicated to the Avesta and the lasga dance. In addition, he called for the creation of round-the-clock rows of cafes and restaurants of Khorezm cuisine in Khiva, aimed at foreign guests.
The issue of transport connectivity of Khorezm was also touched upon. It was instructed to launch flights from Urgench to Bukhara, Samarkand, Termez, the cities of the Fergana Valley, as well as to St. Petersburg, Madrid, Frankfurt, Beijing and Urumqi. A private company will be involved in the modernization of the city airport.
Along with this, it is planned to launch electric buses between Urgench, Khiva and Khanka. The intervals of the Urgench — Khiva trolleybus will be halved.
