Berlin and Ashgabat discuss business prospects

Berlin hosted a regular meeting of Turkmen-German Working Group on trade-economic cooperation, alongside this event, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in FRG together with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan has organized a "round table" with participation of representatives of business-communities of two countries. The meeting of the bilateral working group has been held in the building of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy of Germany. The Turkmen delegation was lead by vice-premier in charge of trade Chary Gylydzhov. At the meeting the parties discussed matters of expansion of trade-economic relations in various areas, including energy, finance, agriculture, healthcare, environmental protection, infrastructure and tourism sectors. Possibilities of activating cooperation in the area of preparation of specialists in agriculture, medicine and the banking sector have also been considered. Cultural contacts have not been forgotten as well. As has been noted, the new impulse to interstate dialogue was given by the exhibition "Margiana - the kingdom of the bronze epoch on the territory of Turkmenistan", which is held in Germany. The meeting of the businessmen of the two countries was held in "Sofitel Berlin Kurfurstendamm" hotel. In particular, the parties have achieved agreements on introduction of German equipment into Turkmen manufacturing of various types of construction materials and food products, as well as on creating connections in the area of logistics and transport. Two Memoranda on Cooperation between the private companies have also been signed.
