17 participants from Turkmenistan went to the World Youth Festival in Sochi


Turkmen participants of the World Youth Festival flew from Ashgabat to Sochi on Thursday night. TASS reported this, citing a source at the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan.
The 17 Turkmen participants included university teachers, higher and high school students, department specialists and a digital services consultant. They represent the International University of Humanities and Development, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University of Oil and Gas, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the country, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, the joint Turkmen-Russian secondary school named after A. S. Pushkin, UNICEF in Turkmenistan and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Ashgabat.
The festival will take place on the federal territory of Sirius from March 1 to 7. It is expected that 20 thousand young leaders in the fields of education, science, culture, international cooperation, volunteerism, sports, business, and journalism will take part in it. From March 10 to 17, the regional program of the festival will take place, thanks to which its participants will visit 30 cities of Russia.

Participants of WYF-2024 will start their day with morning exercises with sports legends, and they can test their skills in the GTO zone - festival guests have the opportunity to pass standards, perform sports tasks at various levels and even set a new record. On all days of the festival, an international 3x3 basketball tournament will be held, in which more than 20 men's and women's teams from 12 countries will take part. BMX cycling demonstrations will be held daily, as well as curling master classes and an open tournament for everyone.
The World Friendship Games sports arena will host spectacular sports shows, events and master classes with the participation of sports stars in various disciplines. And in the technology park you will be able to talk with the geniuses of the past using artificial intelligence. On the ground floor of the Bolshoi stadium, which will host the opening and closing of the festival, the international mall “Art.Molodost” will open. A large-scale fair of young art and folk arts and crafts will also be held there.
