Ashgabat and Bishkek exchanged proposals to increase transit traffic


Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Bishkek Nury Golliev and Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Tilek Tekebaev discussed at a meeting on Wednesday promising areas for the development of bilateral cooperation in the transport, transit and logistics sectors, including in the context of the implementation of joint projects within the framework of international and regional initiatives.
It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of transport infrastructure and transit potential, both within the country and at the international level. In this regard, taking into account the geographically convenient location and transport capabilities of both countries, it was expressed readiness to expand cooperation in this area, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The minister emphasized interest in developing transport links between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, as one of the important partners in the region. He noted that Kyrgyzstan supports Turkmenistan’s initiatives to create transport corridors aimed at strengthening regional integration and cooperation.
