China is taking the first steps towards next-generation connectivity. The country has launched two experimental satellites into low Earth orbit, according to China Global Television Network (CGTN).

The first satellite, China Mobile 01, is equipped with the world's first signal processing satellite that runs on the 5G ground-space operating system, and the second, Xinghe ("Star Core"), includes an autonomous architecture for the future 6G network.

According to experts, widespread use of 6G is not expected until 2030.

Scientific American magazine reports that 6G can have a data transfer rate 10-1000 times higher than 5G. This means increasing the download speed to terabits per second, stimulating progress in the field of augmented and virtual reality, as well as driverless cars.

The introduction of 5G defined telecommunications in the 2020s, and 6G will become the technology of the 2030s and beyond.

After an expensive and multi-year rollout, the introduction of 5G in the United States, 91% of Americans will be connected to the 5G network by 2030.

The first developers and implementers of the 6G network will be given a technological advantage, so countries are competing for leadership in this area.
