Transport cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran was discussed by the ambassadors of the two countries to the Russian Federation. During a meeting on Monday, February 19, Turkmen Ambassador Esen Aydogdyev and the head of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Moscow Kazem Jalali, exchanging views on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, paid special attention to the partnership in the transit and transport sector.
Diplomats noted the growing role of international transit and transport corridors passing through the territories of neighboring Turkmenistan and Iran in building up interregional trade ties.
Esen Aydogdyev and Kazem Jalali spoke about the need to fully utilize the transport potential of the two countries and create favorable conditions for the development of cargo transportation, according to the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the heads of diplomatic missions exchanged views on issues on the international agenda. It was noted that Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are long-standing partners developing their relations based on the principles of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual respect.
