Turkmen students competed for intellectual championship in team competitions


On Saturday, February 17, a brain-ring dedicated to Day of Diplomatic Workers took place within the walls of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Participants in the intellectual competition were students from the National Institute of World Languages named after Azadi, IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, International University of Humanities and Development, as well as TSU named after Magtymguly.
The “brain battle” was held in team competitions: based on the results of a draw, groups of students from four universities of the country competed in three rounds for primacy on the podium. The judges were UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, head of the country office of the UN Children's Fund Muhammad Fayazi and a representative of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly.

In the first round, students of the country's highest diplomatic school and TSU named after Magtymguly met; during the second stage, scholars from a humanitarian university and a language institute competed for a place in the finals. According to the results of the final round between students of IIR and TNIWL, young diplomat students won; “linguists” received a silver award, and “humanities” took an honorable third place.
During the discussion of the results of the competition, Dmitry Shlapachenko noted the extraordinary knowledge of the participating students in various fields, as well as the ability to think critically in conditions of limited time.
