Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are negotiating economic cooperation


Afghanistan and Turkmenistan have reached a preliminary agreement on taxation, which is aimed at increasing investment, developing cooperation and optimizing national and international trade.
According to the Afghan Ministry of Finance, the first consultations between the department and the delegation of Turkmenistan were held in Kabul, and the next meeting of high-ranking representatives of the tax authorities of the two countries will be held in the near future.
The ministry added that the negotiations were focused on avoiding double taxation, expanding trade relations, increasing investments and preventing tax evasion, and resolving customs issues. The discussions held in Kabul marked a significant step towards strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Afghan business is recording an increase in trade turnover between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan in the port of Akin and calls on local authorities to expand its capacity, TOLOnews writes.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan also reported that the volume of trade between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan last year amounted to $481 million. This is about $3 million of exports and $477 million of imports, which are based on Turkmen electricity and oil and gas products.
