This initiative was made by Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin at the third meeting of the heads of ministries and departments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization responsible for the development of information and communication technologies held in Almaty.

The event took place at the Digital Almaty 2024 forum, the website of the largest international technopark of IT startups in Central Asia, Astana Hub reports.

The Alliance is designed to contribute to the further development of the innovation ecosystem and comprehensive support for start-up projects and IT companies.

According to the minister, the main goal of the Alliance is the exchange of startup projects and experience of Technoparks, providing assistance in entering the markets for startups, creating a common venture fund, training in joint incubation and acceleration programs, scaling solutions in technoparks of SCO member countries.

Bagdat Musin also proposed considering the possibility of building a fiber-optic transmission line connecting the SCO along the Russia-Kazakhstan-Iran route, with access to the Indian Ocean. This, in turn, will improve technological connectivity with the global world.

During the meeting, delegates discussed the challenges and prospects of ICT for sustainable development, shared plans for interaction to reduce the digital divide in the SCO space and views on global trends in this area.
