The President of Turkmenistan signed an order according to which the State Concern Turkmengaz will gratuitously transfer 2,000 tons of liquefied natural gas to the Kyrgyz Republic as friendly and fraternal assistance.

This gesture was made in connection with the current situation in the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan, the Turkmen State Television news outlet reported on Friday, February 2.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, on the night of February 2, an accident occurred at the Bishkek CHP plant – an explosion sounded on the territory of the CHP at about 3 a.m.

"In this regard, the supply of hot water and heating to many institutions and residential buildings has been suspended. Due to heating failures, all Bishkek schools are switching to online education until Monday. Kindergartens are temporarily closed," Tazabek writes.
