Rashid Meredov met with the Special representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Special Representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry for Central Asia, the Caucasus and GUAM Ikegami Masaki.
During the meeting held on Wednesday, January 31, the key aspects of Turkmenistan's cooperation with Japan, which is traditionally based on the principles of long-term friendship, trust and mutual understanding, were considered. At the same time, it was noted that a special role in the expansion of bilateral relations is assigned to the development of contacts at the highest level, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in a statement.
The parties discussed preparations for the first high-level summit of the Central Asian member states and Japan, scheduled for 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan, noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Central Asia+ DialogueJapan", which was created on the initiative of Japan.
