At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, work on the creation of additional water reserves in the country was considered


Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atahalliyev informed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, January 26, about the ongoing work in the country to improve conditions and mechanisms for the rational use of water resources, effective irrigation of agricultural lands, improvement of land reclamation and creation of additional water reserves. He also reported that irrigation canals and drainage networks are being cleaned locally and in the regions of the country to maintain their operational condition.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of creating additional water reserves and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take measures to strengthen control over the effective and targeted use of water resources.
In the context of the environmental agenda, Atahalliyev reported on research and scientific and experimental activities in the country's nature reserves, including the cultivation of Turkmen juniper, dagdan (carcass) and pistachio trees, rare and valuable plant species, as well as on the conservation of populations of wild animals, birds migrating and wintering in Turkmenistan, and population accounting representatives of rare species of fauna.
