The first cruise route on the Caspian Sea will be launched

In 2024, the first cruise route along the Caspian Sea will be launched as part of the Great Volga Way project. This was stated by Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.

The route includes visits to Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia. Russian and foreign tourists will be able to go on cruises around the Caspian Sea on the passenger four-deck vessel Peter the Great, which is being built at the Astrakhan shipyard Lotos.

The construction of the Peter the Great was started in August 2016 by order of the Moscow River Shipping Company. It should be commissioned in 2024.
