The President of Turkmenistan replaced the country's Prosecutor General


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed the country's Prosecutor General Serdar Myalikgulyev and appointed 3rd class State Counselor of Justice Begmurat Mukhamedov to this post.
The head of state signed the relevant documents on Tuesday, January 16, during a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan on the results of the activities of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies for 2023, the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio reported.
As the President said at the meeting, this decision was made in agreement with the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. Myalikgulyev was dismissed “for failure to properly fulfill his official duties and the low level of organization of the work of the prosecutor’s office.”

Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the new Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan Begmurat Mukhamedov success in his work and pointed out the need to ensure strict control over the implementation of laws and protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.
