Marlene Engelhorn, 31, who inherited money from her family associated with the chemical giant BASF, believes that her wealth should be redistributed in society.

This is reported by a Euronews source.

Engelhorn has organized a civic meeting that will meet on six weekends from March to June. The assembly consisted of 50 randomly selected citizens. Under the guidance of experts, they will decide how and to whom to distribute the money. Engelhorn will have no say in this process. She considers it unfair that 1% of the Austrian population owns half of the national wealth. The woman has been advocating for a fairer tax system in her home country for many years.

"25 million euros should be redistributed because the state does not redistribute them. I have this money because it is tax-free. I have this money because the government has not fulfilled its mandate to ensure such a distribution of wealth in society, and it falls into my hands disproportionately, just because I live in this world in this particular family under this surname," said Marlene Engelhorn.
