Japan enters the alternative energy market in Central Asia
The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry signed memorandums of cooperation in the field of decarbonization with the governments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
In accordance with the agreements signed on Tuesday, Japan will supply energy- saving and renewable energy technologies to two Central Asian countries, Japan news writes.
According to the publication, on January 9, the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry held online meetings with the energy ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, assuring them of Japan’s desire to strengthen ties with the Central Asian region to promote the energy transition and industrial development.
It is expected, as Japan news notes, that the Japanese agency will sign similar documents with Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, mainly to help companies cooperate on projects to build wind energy facilities and improve the efficiency of generating capacities.
The topic of alternative energy was also included on the agenda of the Uzbek- Japanese business forum held on Wednesday, January 10, in Tashkent.
