World’s largest online training on the International Olympic Day
International Olympic Day 2020, which is celebrated annually on June 23, will bring together Olympic athletes and sports enthusiasts from all over the world. Athletes will conduct round-the-clock online training courses in 20 time zones, which will be broadcast on digital platforms.
The entire Olympic Movement was mobilized to participate in virtual events on June 23, including the National Olympic Committees, International Federations, World Olympic Partners (Coca-Cola, Samsung, Toyota), as well as the Organizing Committees of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Beijing-2022, Paris-2024.
“The International Olympic Day celebration will be different from previous years. Nevertheless, our message on this day about the power of sports sounds even stronger. Let’s unite to use this power. In these difficult times, we need more than ever the sports values, our common Olympic values such as friendship, respect and solidarity”, said Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee.
A combined training video with the participation of 23 champions from around the world will be available on the Olympic Channel.
The International Olympic Day, established by the IOC in 1948, is celebrated with the goal of encouraging the participation in sports regardless of a person’s age, gender or athletic ability.
