Two Guinness World records have been set in the UAE with the help of a New Year's show of drones and fireworks

Ras al Khaimah, an emirate in the north of the United Arab Emirates, celebrated the New Year with another record-breaking eight-minute fireworks and drone show, setting two new titles in the Guinness Book of Records in a stunning spectacle that lit up the sky on a 4.5-kilometer stretch of the waterfront of the regional capital.
Having already won several titles in the Guinness Book of Records for its legendary fireworks on New Year's Eve, the emirate made history again thanks to an amazing show that broke records such as the "Longest Chain of water floating Fireworks" with a total length of 5.8 km and the "Longest straight-line drone Exhibition" with a total length of 2 km.

The mesmerizing performance featured innovative techniques that had never been used before using a combination of 1,050 LED drones, a "carpet" of water-based floating fireworks and acrobatic pyroplanes inspired by the natural wonders of Ras al Khaimah - the desert, the sea and the mountains. All this was set to music specially written for the holiday, writes Gulf Today.
Raki Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, commented: "The establishment of two more Guinness World Records set the stage for an unforgettable festive night, gathering thousands of visitors and residents."

He considers this event exceptional for tourism in Ras al Khaimah, where it is expected to attract more than 3 million visitors per year by 2030.
