Kazakhstan has excluded the Taliban from the list of banned organizations in the republic

Kazakh Ambassador to Afghanistan Alimkhan Yesengeldiyev, at a meeting with Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki, said that Kazakhstan had excluded the Taliban movement from the list of banned organizations in the country and wanted to expand economic and political relations with Afghanistan.
Muttaki praised this decision of Kazakhstan, saying that it would be beneficial to both countries, and called for increased cooperation, TOLOnews reports.
Earlier, the Kazakh authorities decided to exclude the Taliban movement from the list of banned organizations in the country. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Aybek Smadiyarov in an interview with the Kazinform agency.
"Kazakhstan regularly conducts an audit of the national list of terrorist organizations banned in the republic in order to update it. As part of this process, it was decided to exclude the Taliban movement from it in accordance with UN practice. Thus, according to the resolutions of the UN Security Council, which are binding, the Taliban movement is not included in the lists of organizations recognized by the UN Security Council as terrorist," Smadiyarov explained.
In August of this year, Astana hosted a joint business forum with Afghanistan. On the Afghan side, more than 150 entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy, including banks, took part. As a result of the event, representatives of the business circles of Kazakhstan and Afghanistan signed contracts for $ 190.8 million.
Currently, Afghanistan maintains trade relations with 60 countries, TOLOnews reports, citing the acting Afghan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Noruddin Azizi.
"We had exports to about 60 countries. It is a fact that our main exports are to India, Pakistan and China. From now on, we are trying to target Central Asia and Russia," he told the publication.
