Turkmenistan summed up the results of the year and assessed the role of youth on the path of transformation


An international conference on the results of 2023 was held in Ashgabat on Wednesday, December 27, within the framework of which a universal exhibition was opened, demonstrating significant results in all sectors of Turkmenistan, as well as the role of universities in the life of the state, because the main focus of the forum is the contribution of youth to the development of the country, national economy and society.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Mejlis, members of the government, heads and representatives of ministries and departments, mayors of the capital and the city of Arkadag, heads of diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations in Turkmenistan, public figures, students and working youth. The forum was attended by teachers and students of all higher educational institutions of the country via video link.

Among the invited guests are guests from Azerbaijan, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, delegates from regional structures, as well as the International Kurash Association and the International Chess Federation.
The conference began with a plenary session and continued with thematic sessions, the agenda of which revealed various aspects of Turkmenistan’s foreign and domestic policy with an emphasis on young people.
In particular, the issues of legislative activity and improvement of national legislation in the field of protection of the rights and freedoms of youth, creation of conditions for obtaining modern education, development of the abilities of young people were considered. It was noted that in accordance with state programs, social benefits for young families are being expanded, measures are being taken to assist them in providing housing, etc.

According to the results of the elections of deputies of the Mejlis this year, about 37% of the composition of the national parliament are young people under 35 years of age. A group of young parliamentarians has been created in the Mejlis in order to enhance the role of youth in public administration and develop youth parliamentarism.
A significant place is given to Turkmen youth in the process of implementing the foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan. This was reflected in the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan presented at the 78 th session of the UN General Assembly. It is about establishing broad and substantive ties between Turkmen youth and their peers abroad, their participation in the main processes of modern world development.

Other sections were devoted to healthcare, education and science; the study, preservation and popularization of cultural and historical heritage; agro-industrial complex and ecology; trade and services; financial and economic system; oil and gas sector; construction and industrial production and chemical industry; scientific and technical developments and transport and communication solutions.
All these areas are clearly represented in the unique exhibition, which unfolded at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and is open to the public until December 30.
