The diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Dushanbe took part in the international festival of cultures
The international festival “East-West: Eurasian musical traditions and folk crafts in the cultural space of the CIS” was held in Dushanbe last Saturday, December 23. On the sidelines of the festival, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tajikistan organized its own exhibition corner.
At the exhibition, participants got acquainted with the cultural values of the Turkmen people, national carpets and embroideries, as well as the works of Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and information materials demonstrating the modern achievements of Turkmenistan during the years of independence, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, was attended by heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, representatives of the media, scientific intelligentsia and public organizations, as well as creative groups from Tajikistan and foreign countries.
Following the results of the International Festival, the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan was awarded a diploma from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On the eve of the festival in Ashgabat, a meeting between Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Culture and Media Myahrijemal Mamedova and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Niyatbekzoda Vafo was held.
“During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state and future prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture, art, tourism and media,” the Tajik Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The parties noted the importance of expanding the cultural and humanitarian dialogue between the two countries and expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation for the benefit of friendship and mutual enrichment of the cultures of the two countries.
