Representatives of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the International Information Center held meetings with colleagues of the German TV channels ZDF and MDR/ARD through the mediation of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Introductory negotiations were held on December 20-21 in the format of video conferencing and were devoted to establishing contacts for the further development of dialogue and potential interaction in the media environment.

The establishment and development of partnership of Turkmenistan in the field of information policy is one of the main tasks identified by the country’s leadership in order to further integrate national media into the global information space and comprehensively cover the life of the independent neutral state.

German television workers, in turn, became interested in the prospect of filming documentaries about Turkmenistan, its culture and traditions, modern life, including economic and social transformations in the country, including a focus on its energy capabilities.

ARD and ZDF are the main media associations in Germany, which include state broadcasters.
