What's happening on the Internet every minute: people are Googling more, but watching less videos
Domo has published the 11th annual edition of the Data Never Sleeps infographic, dedicated to what is happening on the Internet every minute.
The company's analysts have identified several of the most notable annual statistical indicators of events taking place on the World Wide Web every minute.
So, 241 million emails were sent this year, and 231.4 million in 2022.
People have also started Googling more. In 2023, 6.3 million Google search queries were completed every minute. Last year, this figure reached 5.9 million, which is 6.7% more.
The authors of the annual publication also found out that the inhabitants of the Earth collectively used the Internet for 25.1 million hours, wrote 360 thousand messages on the social network Twitter (X).
The global network's total audience continues to grow. It reached 5.3 billion users in 2023 and 4.5 billion in 2020. But the level of streaming video viewing has decreased (in 2022 — for 114 years, in 2023 — 43 years).
New this year in the infographic was an entry about an artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI ChatGPT. In total, the chatbot received 6944 requests every minute.
Experts from the Domo analytical company have been collecting and aggregating data on the functioning of the Network since 2013.
