The concert in Ashgabat was opened by U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimow. "This performance is a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of both our countries, which we celebrate tonight," said Ambassador Klimow, addressing the audience.

The concert was the culmination of a two-week collaboration between American and Turkmen artists. Organized jointly by the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, this program is the result of many years of active cultural cooperation between the two countries. This collaborative relationship has allowed audiences in Turkmenistan and the United States the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of music, theater, visual, and other arts, while American and Turkmen artists have enriched their craft through mutual exchange.
