Russia will accelerate the deadline for issuing special permits for heavy and large-sized transport
In Russia, the period for issuing special permits for the movement of heavy and large vehicles on roads has been reduced.
Now the issuance of such documents will take three hours. Now it takes from 7 to 9 days.
The rules for the movement of heavy and large-sized transport approved by the Russian Government imply a transition to automatic determination of the route of heavy cargo. Data on the technical characteristics of highways and the maximum permissible weight parameters for vehicles when driving along them are entered by road owners into the system for issuing special permits.
When submitting an application for a special permit, the system itself will determine travel options and offer them to the carrier. The system will also automatically calculate the cost of payment that must be made to compensate for damage caused to roads.
The changes will take effect on March 1, 2024.
