As part of improving technology for easier and safer helicopter control, Airbus Helicopters has developed a system that allows you to control an autonomous helicopter from a tablet.

The company has tested UpNext technology, which is part of one of its simplified management systems. The tests were based on sensors using the visual perception method, algorithms for assessing situations and detecting obstacles, and an improved tablet-based interface - HMI.

Within an hour, the modified FlightLab helicopter platform successfully completed all pre-flight checks, including power-up, taxi, takeoff, flight, approach, and landing.

All this time, the pilot was in control of the situation and could take control at any moment.
