Turkmen-Russian educational agreements “in practice”

In Ashgabat, the State Institute of Transport and Communications hosted the III Russian exhibition of educational programs, organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation together with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Representatives of 33 leading Russian universities told visitors everything that could be interesting for university entrants and help them with the choice of an educational institution. High-class pupils and school-leavers, their parents, and students planning to continue their magistracy and postgraduate studies abroad could choose the appropriate program, learn about the opportunities of free higher education in Russia, and get information on the cost and terms of training on a fee basis. Arrived delegations were happy to provide additional consultations. Such giants as the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin, the Moscow State University named after N.E. Bauman, the St. Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work, the Moscow State Linguistic University named after Maurice Thorez; the Russian State University named after A.N.Kosygin and others presented their stands. The various directions of study presented such as economics and management, international relations, jurisprudence, medicine, information technologies, architecture and construction, linguistics, etc. Leonid Klyuev, PhD in engineering, the representative of the Moscow State Linguistic University named after Maurice Thorez, shared with ORIENT: “The students from Turkmenistan are one of the most diligent in our university. They are aiming to get a quality education and return to their country in order to become useful to the Fatherland. Here, at the exhibition, we fill with real content the bilateral agreements that were signed in October last year, during the visit of the Russian President to Turkmenistan.” “Taking into account the legislation of your country, we are practicing the holding of special courses for Turkmen students and graduate students. I am convinced that such an approach, as well as our cooperation as a whole, will be fruitful and mutually beneficial,” said Alexander Plotnikov, the representative of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin. Lyubov Ovsienko, Director of the program of continuing education of Kazan Research Technological University, also shared to us: “We are participating for the first time in an educational exhibition, but our relations with Turkmenistan are very long. Our university prepares specialists for the oil and gas industry. We have prepared a large number of specialists for “Turkmenhimiya” concern and other areas related to management as well as to the food industry. Tatarstan and Turkmenistan are long-standing partners, our cultures and traditions are similar, and we are trying to ensure that your students are comfortable with us.” The exhibition lasted three days, and Turkmen applicants now have something to think about.
