Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Vice Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received on Wednesday a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, First Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 6th meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
Ding Xuexiang conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang to the leadership of Turkmenistan, noting that China attaches great importance to strengthening traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with Turkmenistan. This was reported in the news release of the Turkmen State Television.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the dynamic nature of interstate relations, as well as the role of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the topics of the 6th meeting of the IPC, in preparation for which meetings of the subcommittees on trade and economic relations, energy, transport and logistics, humanitarian and scientific and technical spheres were held. Confidence was expressed that the results of today's meeting will serve to bring the Turkmen-Chinese relations to new horizons.
Speaking about the importance of contacts at the highest level, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he warmly recalls his meetings with Xi Jinping during his visits to China this year. Recently, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also visited China. The national leader took part in the Third Forum "One Belt, One Road" and held productive talks with the Chinese leadership. In this regard, it was stressed that the implementation of the agreements reached during these visits is currently an important task.
For many years, China has been the largest foreign economic partner of Turkmenistan, an example of which is cooperation in the energy sector.
A special place in the interstate dialogue is given to humanitarian ties. A large number of young Turkmen are studying at universities in China. A number of higher and secondary educational institutions in our country study Chinese.
