The Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan adopted a bill on changing the country's flag in the first reading, the press service of the Parliament of the republic reports.

66 deputies voted for the adoption of the document, eight opposed it.

The bill implies amendments to the national flag of Kyrgyzstan. In particular, it is proposed to change the wave-like shape of the rays around the chest (the top of the yurt) to straight ones.

According to the initiators of the bill, the wave-like rays cause associations with sunflower, which is not the main agricultural crop of the country. Direct rays, in turn, are more similar to the rays of the sun.

To develop a new sketch of the rays of the sun on the flag of Kyrgyzstan, authors were involved who developed the flag at the initial stage, carried out mathematical calculations, drawings and other works.
