Ashgabat to host medical conference of Non-Aligned Movement member countries


On December 8-9, a scientific conference will be held in Ashgabat with the participation of medical and sanitary departments of the Non-Aligned Movement member countries and with the assistance of the World Health Organization. The agenda of the forum will include issues related to challenges in public health and joint efforts to respond to them.
As Deputy Prime Minister Nurmukhammet Amannepesov noted at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, organizational preparations for the international forum are being conducted in cooperation with WHO.
The delegates of the forum will be more than 60 representatives of about 30 countries of the world – practitioners, medical scientists, health experts and other specialists.
The Non-Aligned Movement unites about 120 States and another 18 observers.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement contact group on combating COVID-19, held in Baku in March 2023, took the initiative to establish fair logistics for the uninterrupted delivery of medicines and medical equipment to the most vulnerable countries.
Focusing on the importance of cooperation in the field of healthcare between the member States of the Movement, the Head of Turkmenistan proposed to create a common knowledge base and methodologies for combating.
