Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey are creating a mechanism to simplify mutual trade turnover
A trilateral meeting of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey took place on Thursday, November 23.
The meeting was organized in video format on the initiative of the Turkmen side and was aimed at implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the three countries on the creation of a joint Advisory Group on Customs Cooperation.
The participants agreed to exchange information about the members of the advisory group in the near future, determined the place and time of its first meeting, and also discussed issues of notifying each other about goods and vehicles crossing the customs borders of the three countries, according to the website of the customs department of Turkmenistan.
A memorandum of understanding between the government of Turkmenistan, the government of Azerbaijan and the government of Turkey on the establishment of a joint Advisory Commission on Customs Cooperation was signed during the first trilateral Summit of the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey on December 14, 2022 in the city of Turkmenbashi.
The document is aimed at simplifying customs procedures for the accelerated movement of goods between the three states, mutual exchange of information, and creating conditions conducive to the development of mutual trade and strengthening cooperation.
