The OSCE Center organized a regional climate conference


“The role of youth in solving climate change problems” at the Turkmen university — this was the theme of the regional conference held on November 21 at the International University of Humanities and Development.
The large—scale meeting brought together many participants: employees of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, a number of ministries of the country, students and university professors, delegates from Central Asian countries, international experts and representatives of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan – all gathered to discuss the involvement of young people in the modern climate agenda.
During the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of holding such events as an effective platform for an open multilateral dialogue.
The high role of young people in adapting to the effects of climate change and combating this global phenomenon was also noted. In this context, the parties stressed that it is necessary to pay more attention to raising awareness of the younger generation in this matter.
During the exchange of views, the participants noted that strengthening the international partnership on the climate agenda with the involvement of young people in the decision-making process is a key success factor in this issue.
