Outgoing Nature – International Photo Award excludes AI from Landscapes

Canadian landscape photographer Blake Randall has won the Natural Landscape Photography Awards 2023, an annual international photography competition that celebrates the realism and authenticity of landscape images.

The relatively strict rules of the contest, aimed at preventing fraudulent digital editing methods and combating the use of artificial intelligence, did not dissuade talented photographers from all over the world from participating. This year’s competition, the third in a row, received 11,176 photos from 1,023 photographers from 54 countries.

All finalists were required to provide the jury with original RAW files, that is, files of “raw”, raw data. They contain exactly the image data that the camera sensor captured.

This is how the competition sets the gold standard for landscape photography, preserving the authentic experience of shooting the unchanged natural beauty of our planet, in contrast to the growing popularity of artificial intelligence and computer images.

Let’s look at how beautiful nature is in different parts of the Earth, until AI has completely replaced this reality for us. Here are some photos recognized as the best in the competition.
