A meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders was held in Astana


An extraordinary, 47th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers (MDA) was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan The Commonwealth of Independent States. This is reported on the official website of the Council.
The meeting within the framework of the XIX International Forum "Kaztraffic-2023" was held with the participation of representatives of road, transport and research organizations of the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, associate members of the above-mentioned council.
They got acquainted with the progress made by the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders of the CIS over the past period and discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of design, construction, modernization and operation of highways.
In particular, they considered the issue of making amendments and additions to the Agreement on the Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles Engaged in Interstate Transportation on the Highways of the CIS member states; on holding the VII International Motor Rally in 2024; the issue of organizing the contest "CIS Highways–2024".
The agenda of the meeting also included consideration of the activities of the International Center for Transport Diplomacy; holding an annual International competition of scientific papers of students, undergraduates and postgraduates of higher educational institutions of the CIS member states.
48th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers (MDA) The CIS is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in the IV quarter of 2024.
Interstate Council of Road Workers (MDA) The Commonwealth of Independent States was founded in 1992. Its creation is conditioned by the need to develop the road industry as a generator of economic development of the CIS states.
The purpose of the Council is to contribute to the development and improvement of the public highway network, to support governments in implementing a coordinated road policy.
