More than 100 people from the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the III Forum of Young Leaders “Russia - Central Asian Region”, which was held in Omsk from November 8 to 10. They present nineteen projects related to tourism development. The destinations are very different: visiting exotic places, gastro tours, trips to craft development centers.

As Deputy Head of Rosmolodezh Denis Ashirov told reporters, in 2023 the forum is dedicated to the development of youth tourism, TASS reports.

“The development of youth tourism is one of the priorities of Russia’s youth policy, and I know that in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, our colleagues in the youth sector also pay great attention to this issue. Together we strive to ensure that the youth of our countries continue to communicate with each other in the same cultural language, understand each other well and successfully make friends and cooperate. And it is thanks to travel that we can achieve this goal,” Ashirov addressed the participants via video link.

The Young Leaders Forum was organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the government of the Omsk region as part of the work of the project office of international youth cooperation “Russia - Central Asian Region” based in Omsk. The program included a panel discussion “Tourism as a driver for the development of international youth cooperation,” a presentation of projects that were evaluated by experts, and master classes on the topic of youth tourism.
