On the eve of the World Day of Sustainable Transport, the Railway Agency of Turkmenistan announced an impressive reduction in the transit time of goods through the territory of the country. Thanks to the establishment of multimodal logistics and the improvement of rail transportation, the speed of cargo delivery from one border to another has increased by 40%.

This tangible result of the systemic measures taken puts Turkmenistan on the map of countries seeking to increase their importance in the international transport system.

It was possible to significantly reduce the travel time for transit cargo due to the optimization of work on the railway tracks and in the port of Turkmenbashi. Saturation of traction resources and elimination of delays on the territory of Iran have made transportation through Turkmenistan more efficient and predictable.

Integration with Iranian companies in the field of road transport has strengthened the multimodal approach to transportation, which creates great prospects for the future. Turkmenistan is becoming a key hub for transit cargo, not only along the eastern branch of the North-South corridor, but also along the Trans-Caspian branch of Russian cargo.

Since the new year, Turkmenistan intends to increase the volume of goods transported by transit by 80%, which underlines its determination to become an important player in global logistics. Taking into account the desire for sustainability and compliance with international norms and standards, Turkmenistan is actively developing transport infrastructure and expanding its capabilities. To further improve the transit routes North-South and East-West, the Railway Agency of Turkmenistan invited partners from the region to a meeting at the highest and expert level.

The main purpose of the meeting is to make coordinated decisions on route optimization and discuss promising areas of development. This event is becoming a milestone in the development of transit logistics in the region, and Turkmenistan is ready to become a catalyst for changes in the global transport community.
