Iran wills to help Pakistan in setting up trade relations with Central Asia

Iran is ready to facilitate assist transit trade between Pakistani deep-water port Gawadar and Central Asia via road and rail links. The statement was made on Thursday by Iran’s Minister for Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi.
Heading high-ranking delegation, he is on the visit to Islamabad.
The two parties agreed to establish ferry service between their two major marine gateways Karachi and Chabahar.
“While Iran is fully prepared to launch the service, Pakistan will launch the service after clearance from a few departments,” said the Minister for Ports and Shipping of Pakistan Hasil Bizenjo Bizenjo at a press briefing on Thursday.
Moreover, Iranian minister expressed the hope that the ferry route Karachi-Chabahar would be extended between Gawadar, Khorramshahr and other ports.
So, if the agreements and initiatives between two neighbor countries will come true, the Central Asia will get suitable access to the waters of Indian ocean – world’s strategic marine trade lane.
