Tokyo has sent its new ambassador to Ashgabat


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting on Monday, November 7, with the new Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan Sasaki Hiroshi and accepted copies of his credentials.
The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide full assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic mission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said.
Rashid Meredov and Sasaki Hiroshi reviewed the current bilateral agenda, exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation and noted fruitful cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, including in the format of the Central Asia+ dialogueJapan.

The significant role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of interstate relations was also emphasized. In this context, the results of the visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan in September last year were noted.
Special attention was paid to the state of trade and economic relations. Defining the priorities of cooperation, the parties stressed its potential in the fields of energy, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, environmental protection, as well as in the field of culture, science, education, including the study of the Japanese language in Turkmenistan.
