According to OPEC Secretary General Haitham al-Gais, the growth of the global economy will stimulate the need for fuel, despite the macroeconomic problems in the world, which include rising inflation and interest rates in central banks of different countries.

OPEC gives a more positive forecast of demand growth for next year than the IEA. OPEC believes that in 2024 it will amount to 2.25 million b/d, while the IEA has this forecast of demand growth for the next year is only 0.88 million b/d.

At the Argus Oil conference, Haytham al-Gais singled out jet fuel separately: he assessed the prospects for growth in demand for it as very positive, the magazine “Oil and Capital” notes.

According to Haitham al-Gais, the change in global oil sales flows occurred when Europe abandoned Russian oil. Ultimately, according to the OPEC secretary, oil will flow to those regions where there will be the greatest demand and more attractive prices.
