Representatives of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran held a meeting on Monday, November 6, at the Sarahs-Sarahs checkpoints on the border between the countries. Earlier, such meetings were held at the border checkpoints of Gaudan-Bajgiran and Artyk-Lotfabad. Representatives of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran held a meeting on Monday, November 6, at the Sarahs-Sarahs checkpoints on the border between the countries. The Iranian delegation included 16 employees of the customs department of the neighboring country - from the deputy head to the heads of various departments and representatives of regional customs, as well as representatives of the Embassy and Consulate of Iran in Turkmenistan.

First, the meeting was held on the Iranian side, and in the afternoon on the Turkmen side. The Iranian delegation got acquainted with the work and arrangement of the customs post "Sarahs Awtoyollary", halls of entry/exit, X-ray installation for cargo and transport inspection.

The colleagues discussed the issues of customs clearance of goods around the clock at the Sarahs-Sarahs checkpoints, exchange of preliminary information, etc.

A separate meeting of the joint working group was also held, which was established in order to implement the Joint Action Plan for 2023-2024, signed in May this year, the Customs Service of Turkmenistan reports.
