Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed condolences to the President of Nepal in connection with the earthquake


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister of this country Pushpa Kamal Dahal in connection with the earthquake, which led to numerous human casualties, injuries and destruction.
The head of state, on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf, expressed sincere empathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims, the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio reported.
An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred on Saturday night in Jajarkot district of Karnali province. It was followed by a series of seismic tremors of lesser intensity. Many houses have been destroyed, mainly in mountainous settlements, and roads are blocked due to landslides, making it difficult for rescuers to access a number of areas.
The death toll has risen to 143, the country's police said on Saturday. The number of injured increased to 166 people, the police said in a statement.
