The Turkmen actress received the prize for the best female role at the theater festival in Baku


The closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the First International Theater Festival TURKSOY was held at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev thanked the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan for the high level of hospitality and organization.
Stressing that the first festival was a success, the Secretary General noted that the next TURKSOY theater festival will be held next year in Ashgabat, Azernews reports.
Then the winning performances of the festival were announced, bringing together the leading theater groups of the Turkic countries. According to the jury consisting of theatrical figures of the Turkic world, the Istanbul State Theater won in the nomination "Best Musical Composition" with the performance "Bir Hefes Dede Gorgud".

In the nomination "Best Performance", the productions "The Child touching the Sun" of the Issyk-Gel Musical Drama Theater (Kyrgyzstan) and "Leyli and Majnun" of the Samarkand Musical Drama Theater (Uzbekistan) won.
Turkestan Music and Drama Theater (Kazakhstan) with "The Tale of Gorgud" received a prize for the best plastic solution of the performance.
The title of "Best Female Role" of the competition was awarded to two artists – Gulnabat Abdullayeva from the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater,
Turkmenistan, and Mesma Aslangizi from the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater.

Within the framework of the festival, the 9th meeting of the Council of Heads of State Theaters of the TURKSOY member countries was also held and a joint declaration was signed. The document reflects the issues of expanding cooperation between the Turkic peoples in the field of theater, the exchange of art on stage work, etc.
It was noted that the 10th meeting of the Council of heads of state theaters of the TURKSOY member countries will be held in the city of Anew, Turkmenistan, declared the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" for 2024.
